Apple denied Parler re-entry to the App Store despite guideline revision
Yeah, this is a bad look for Apple. I have no desire to download Parler (other than the obvious "this is forbidden, I must have it" draw) but to say it's due to hate speech when you can find exactly that on several currently approved apps (as has been mentioned above: Twitter, Reddit, Facebook etc) is disingenuous at best.
As has been said often (not sure who the original author is): "The tech industry needs to learn to distinguish between hate speech and speech they hate." This is clearly the latter.
Ban FB, Twitter, and Reddit as well and I'll believe it. -

Actual US broadband penetration & speed falls far short of FCC claims

Apple is already being weirdly criticized for an AI effort that hasn't launched yet
Personally, I'd rather see Apple develop its own internal AI.BUT, this is probably a smart move. By all counts, you're going to see an Apple front end to this, and when that front end AI cannot generate an acceptable reply, it will punt to Gemini... or possibly something else. It would seem this is similar to their search deal: Google is the default but users can replace it with something else.
All this to say: Apple gets Google dollars for putting it in as a default, and it also avoids any antitrust issues (for Apple anyway.)
Don't get me wrong: I think Gemini is a horrible product, so if I cannot swap out the backend for something else, I cannot see me ever using (or at least trusting) it. But strictly from an anti-trust perspective, this makes sense to me. -
Apple Music announces Lossless Audio, Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos

I own 2 and going completely against conventional wisdom (don’t buy a discontinued tech product) I’d like to buy 1 or 2 more. But, especially now, I’m not willing to pay more than $200 for one. So here I am trolling the local classifieds looking for <$200 HomePods daily…
I doubt lossless would make a big difference to what you hear on a homepod but I do look forward to giving the Atmos stuff a whirl. -
Party's over: Apple tries to shrink costs of Apple TV+ productions
CarmB said:At the least, if you end a season with a cliffhanger, put out one or two more episode to allow for the story to be completed properly.
Personally, I think Apple has done better than most in this regard, but at the same time, recent history shows otherwise.
If I can no longer trust that Apple won't finish out their series, I have no reason to watch and get "invested." Constellation certainly wasn't great, but again, we never would have started watching it knowing it was going to be discontinued. If there was some sort of conclusion on the docket, I'd be fine with it - even if it wasn't somehow one of the greatest conclusions to a series ever...
With all the news about budgets, it's clear that Foundation certainly has the potential to REALLY upset me in that regard.
Also, since people have mentioned being "outliers," I'll just add that I'm also eagerly awaiting a conclusion to Invasion. -
