It’ll be interesting to see if the update stops the string of kernel panics associated with sleep mode that has cropped up on my Mac mini M4 Pro since the last ‘update’. That’s been quite annoying, to say the least.

Note: CarPlay updates not mentioned in the AUS version of the .4 update

My 16 Pro Max has become appreciably more responsive since I nuked ‘AI’ on it, especially with regards to Siri. What do I miss? Nothing. I certainly don’t miss oppositely-wrong summaries (which occurred even after Apple paused some in other areas li…

‘Apple “Intelligence”’ isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Garbage functionality, garbage interface. A very good reason to not buy an Apple product (except for new the iPad 11), or at least an extremely good reason TO TURN THE HEAP OF RUBBISH OFF…

Available in Australia, too

This is what comes up for my new ipad, note the accidental damage:

I think that we need a ‘laugh’ button instead of the new ‘dislike’ button. I’m serious.

Thanks for the review, very informative and useful.

This just prompted me to go looking in Settings turn all summaries off. It was getting too annoying anyway, regardless of accuracy. Whew.

Presumably AI features for some of the ‘rest of the world’ countries are going to be included (e.g., Australia). I didn’t see this aspect reported above.

They’d better get a wriggle on - still back on 1.1? No wonder they're behind. That suggests one big reason why - for example - google smart air conditioning controllers appear to own the market here in Australia. I looked in vain for installers that…

This is what I’ve been waiting for - a (monstrous) replacement for my mid-2010 27” 11,3 i7 Intel Mac (which, after the macOS Ventura 13.6 update running on OCLP, is barely usable). I ended ip having to borrow my wife’s 21.5” 2019 (Intel) iMac) to ke…

The original Mac Studio (M1) was released tin March 18 2022. So there’s a chance that the M4 version might pop up around that time in 2025. The Ultra SoC is the rate-limiting step (look what happened with the M3). It’ll be interesting to see the te…

I recently got an natural titanium Ultra 2 (with milanese loop band), as I didn’t want the black. It’s fantastic - I don’t know that I’m wearing it until I look down at it. And it is nagging me about my fitness (or lack of it 🤣). Not being in the US…

I’m expecting a massive blow-back over Photos. Apart from this iOS version being a .0 release, those Photos changes alone are enough to make me hold off.

Not so fast - the same list of fixes (as far as I can tell) has been released for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 (as well as Ventura and Sonoma), making it unnecessary to update to 18 for the security fixes. And in my case I now wait until at least x.2 and th…
