The new App Store icon is a bit more fitting. The prior icon was based on the old AppleWorks suite. The App Store represents a lot more than just paint and drawing apps.

And this is why Apple is switching to their own silicon. 

And thus a new era of Apple is officially here. I was not alive during the garage days, but I have been using Apple computers when they were called Apple (Apple ][e), then on to the original Macintosh, and on and on and on. I believed in the company when they were making Performa's but I believed them even more when Steve Jobs came back, and I continue to believe in them today. How much the company has changed! Here's to another 35 years with the platform!

Really? Because I am constantly seeing ads for "free six months of Apple Music with said purchase!" I wonder how many of those users are in the mix here.

Nope.  They're slow. 

Buy an Intel Mac while you still can.

I bought an M1 MacBook Air to replace my aged MacBook Pro 15" from 2015. The M1 has half the memory and boy is it buttery smooth and wicked fast. Plus I can run iPadOS apps which is convenient for some of what I do with this machine.
