Most likely tariffs will drop to 10% in next few weeks
Impossible for Apple to manufacture iPhones in the USA
and also cost prohibitive. Besides Trumps going to make a lot of enemies when iPhone 17 costs $2000

I'm going to so be pissed and relieved when, in the near future, Trump "suspends" this one and the price of AAPL surges back. Pissed because the profit all his insider-trader cronies will make; relieved because I have so much invested in AAPL.

I wish I were so confident that his corruption outweighs his idiocy that I could afford to put my money where my mouth is (by acting like an insider trader knowing he's going to orchestrate a market boost for AAPL soon). Instead I'm just going to keep holding on and ride out the Trump chaos.
"the price of AAPL surges back".. LMAO..

Take a valuation. PE (FWD) x28. Single low digit growth while MSFT. META, AMZN, NVDA deliver double digit growth to justify their high PE (FWD).

Why should AAPL surge with their timid revenue growth? LOL.

AAPL is under pressure. AI is cooked. Even John Siracusa wants Tim to step down in his recent article "Turnaround".

But Apple fanboys don´t want to listen that AAPL is under pressure.

Have fun with tiny upgrades from year to year and you pay way more for iPhones.

AAPL is and remain the worst performer by end of this year. AAPL can´t surge. This rotten stock can stay low for awhile.

I agree with you - Trump need to be allowed the time to destroy all American companies (a good start with Apple) in his own special way so the rest of the world can move on without America being a constant pain in the you know where.

It has nothing to do with Trump tbh.
Wearables sales are declining. It is hardly Trump fault.
Apple Intelligence is Apple Incompetency. Their on device AI has failed so far. But give Apple one year to fix it although I highly doubt they can fix it.
Their sales decline + Apple has lost their dominance in China. All these things have happened before Trump era.

And people justfy that AAPL will outperform? LOL .
For long term investors, yes.. But you could also say to NVDA, Walrmart, Nike etc. that they should be fine for long-term.

The childish behavior of the trump has triggered one from me. I will happily cut my personal spending to only necessary items for four years. Will my Apple devices or even my 14 year old plasma TV last that long? I’m sure they will. Why reward the rich kid’s economy?

Fortunately I live near the border so I can spend my money on long weekends and vacations outside the US. Serenity now!

In less than a week, Apple has proved to be extremely vulnerable.

Its supply chain is under attack by tariff's.
Its flagship product is under attack by its former star employee.
Its AI is nowhere to be found.

Apple is under enormous pressure and let's see how M. Cook can address it.
Very likely the same way he has addressed Apple's many and varied previous challenges. It's not like such problems are new ... indeed Cook must be experiencing a lot of deja vu since he last had to deal with Chump eight years ago.

Cook's not new at this. You might recall he was COO before he became CEO. That's why Apple's logistics are so incredibly good.

The biggest problem Apple -- and the world -- faces right now is a delusional senile old man and his enablers in Congress who seriously believes you can build a world-class iPhone manufacturing plant and the attendant logistical infrastructure (because iPhones are clearly made in ONE plant, right?) as fast as you can, let's say, bankrupt a casino.

Yes, Apple has had a rough start with their AI, but name one company whose initial AI venture has not been a complete dumpster fire. Have you forgotten crap like glue on pizzas, how people should eat rocks and other crap like that? Personally, I’d wish of Apple didn’t make this big AI push, it’s all a smoke show anyways where so much of it is trained off of stealing people’s intellectual properties

Apples biggest problem is not the 25% tariff it’s the fact that they’ve fallen behind on AI , Foldable iPhone etc.
People will pay for technology that’s state of the art with all the bells and whistles. Apple has to catch up on AI or buy a company and integrate it into Apples AI
also Apple glasses everybody’s waiting let’s go

. In the past few years I have only seen a handful of foldable phones out in the wild. But yet, it’s this thing that everyone says Apple needs to do. As for AI, I think the problem is that Apple is gotten in on the AI gimmick. It’s a trap all tech companies are getting themselves sucked into, creating a bubble that that it’s a matter of when and not if as to it bursting

I may end up driving to Canada from Wisconsin to buy my next iPhone. No way am I going to pay the Trump Tax.
And commit a felony in doing so. Nice.

For those contemplating doing this, the issue is that US customs specifically requires purchases made outside the US to be declared on entry, as doing so in acting as an importer of goods. Lying, or failing to do is a crime. About now many are laughing at how they will find out..."I will pay by cash." Sure. Many will in fact get away with it. Still others will say "even if I get caught, I will need only pay the tariff and fine." Also likely true. However, it *is* a crime, and the US is now deporting people without due process. How will they find you? It's a transmitter, has a unique number that can be used to see where Apple sold it (Apple has records of which serial numbers went to where, and these can be obtained by the USCS.) People doing this take a big, big chance with draconian consequences if it goes wrong.

And....maybe not announce you are doing it on social media.

Far out. I’ll always struggle to understand how north Americans voted this psychopath into the White House, twice.
Because most Americans are uneducated and not very smart. We have some of the best and some of the worst people in the world. We are the stupid melting pot of the world. However, even the craziest MAGA will revolt when they can't afford cigarettes and beer. They will revolt when those lottery tickets won't get them out of this debt and mess they are in...

    Countries making iPhones
    - India
    - Vietnam
    - Brazil
Soon: Indonesia - same thing they said you can't sell iPhones here if you don't make any here. Apple agreed to invest $1Bn.

But... the USA can't do it? So India can do it. Vietnam can do it. Brazil (high tech wonderland lol) can make iPhones.

Surely it's going to be a huge hassle to set up iPhone production in the USA, when nothing's been made here for decades. But in the long run, it will be a lot better for Apple. Apple also has north of 200Bn in cash stashed away, so they can afford it many times over to invest in plants here.

As it is, Apple is extremely reliant on China. China can basically do whatever it wants with Apple, and Apple has to say yes. Not a good position to be n.

Labor costs won't be an issue since plants can be 100% automated - as Xiaomi has shown.

SpaceX makes Starlink devices in Texas, Tesla cars in Californa and Texas, plus a giant automated gigafactory for batteries in Nevada. So yeah, absolutely, high tech can be made in the USA. I am not saying it's easy, or a piece of cake, but it can be done. Maybe Tim should ask Elon for advice...

PS: Xiaomi was copying Tesla for factory automation... Tesla factories are the most modern in the world. Elon invested a lot of time and energy in making them efficient to the point where they're better than anyone else's factories.

Some of the reasons why they don’t build them here is due to our minimum wage and labor unions. To make things at the scale of an iPhone the cost in terms of manpower, overtime, benefits, pensions, etc.  add to the cost to make iPhones here. It’s why the only thing really being built here is the extremely low volume Mac Pro

In point of fact, foldable phones are a pretty neat product (I've played with one), but the fact that they retail for around $2K has not done much for sales.

You don't see them in the wild outside some of the richer Asian nations, and they are certainly not a mass-market item even several years after introduction, to say nothing of the poor durability of them.

Concur. But even then, these neurodivergent helpless non-functional individuals will be told, and they will repeat, that the reason they can't afford cigs and beer is because obama and biden and wokeness and <insert racist dog whistle trope here>. Since they are non-functional, they will do what makes them feel the best, and that is to vote with the morons around them that concur that it is *someone else's fault* . And...it is easy to see who that someone is, because they don't look like them. Oh, and that someone speaks in complete sentences = elitist = bad = their fault. 70+ million people in the US voted to board the Titanic a second time.

Exactly. There is realistically no way at all to have an iPhone completely built and have all the components made here
